The Artist’s self portrait; this image is meant to convey the sense of loss and letting go of what was once seen as a family tradition and identity. The loose braid slowly unfurling, signifying the release of religious expectations, while laying on the ground, gazing up, feeling a sense of peace. The small detail of a thread tied to her finger, as a reminder, that not all things are easily forgotten or let go of.
